What is an AI phone – and what can the AI on SCYLAR One do?

What the AI on SCYLAR One gets done

You speak or type – your AI acts. It uses tools built into the system to:

• make calls and write messages,
• add appointments,
• find files,
• handle tasks in the built-in ScylarOS apps.

It knows your appointments, contacts and messages – and what it knows about you is stored encrypted on your phone.

Your name, your rules

You choose its name, 2 to 24 characters. You also decide:

• What it may do: carry out tasks on the phone, answer questions – or both.
• When it speaks: only when you open it, also for new notifications – or never out loud.
• What it does without asking: out of the box, timers and alarms; everything else you confirm beforehand.
• Where it thinks: only on the phone (the default) – or, when needed, with a larger AI on our servers.

Its character is fixed: honest, it answers in your language and never pretends to be a person.

On the device – servers only with your consent

A language model for text and tools and a speech recognition model run on the phone. Both work on the phone without an internet connection. For harder tasks your AI can ask a larger AI on our servers – only with your consent; the setting “Ask when needed” asks before every use. In that case the request leaves the device. The live translator also uses the servers unless it is set to “local only”.

Limits

The model on the device is small. For complex questions it is less capable than large cloud AIs. Which languages your AI understands we will announce once that has been checked. We publish no speed figures until we have verified measurements. Everything about the AI: Your AI.
